Esquilleu (Placas del río) is an excellent crag for beginners, nestled in the unique setting of the La Hermida gorge. It features 23 routes across two sectors, Placas and Bóveda, on limestone. Grades range from IV to 8b, with a good concentration in the V to 6a+ range, making it ideal for those starting out or consolidating intermediate grades. Approaches are short, 5 minutes for Placas and 15 minutes for Bóveda.
