Placche di Baone, near Chiarano, offers 21 easy multi-pitch routes on grey limestone slabs, mostly 5a to 6a. Despite the moderate grades, bolts can be run out, so don't underestimate the climbing. This south-facing crag is sunny and surrounded by olive groves, with a comfortable, child-friendly base. It's equipped with picnic areas and bathrooms. Be aware that car break-ins are frequent, so avoid leaving valuables.
